Alan King: Bensalem out for the season...when will our luck change?

Bensalem, who made such a promising comeback from injury at Exeter earlier in the month, has suffered a suspensory problem and is out for the season. Alan, who was preparing Bensalem for the JLT Specialty Handicap at Cheltenham, a race he won two years ago, said: ''It is such a shame as we were delighted with his run against Harry Topper at Haldon. He worked well on Saturday morning, but we weren't happy with him a couple of days later...''

David Bridgwater: Two runners sent out. The Giant Bolster ran in the Denman Chase at Newbury finishing second in testing ground, he is now spot on for The Gold Cup. Saffron Prince made his debut at Warwick in the NHF Race, much admired at home and in the paddock he finished fourth for owner/breeder Dick and Jan Chanery...

Ann Duffield: Mad Fresh Horses 

The horses were all mad fresh yesterday morning which is just how they should be following an easy day of rest on Sunday. They bucked and squealed their way around the trotting ring as though they were on springs. An extra layer of glue on staff backsides was required but it is good to see all the horses looking well...
